*Sigh*

Religion has been the #1 topics of early-morning and late-night discussion today. The lovely conversation with Jessi, where I suddenly realized I was a nothing, and just recently with Lisha. I have no religion, really, and it's starting to...not scare me, but slightly freak out and confuse might work.

Kelly is Pagan. I'm perfectly cool with it, and I know at least two Wiccans. Jessi and her immediate family are Baptist, while the rest of her family are Catholic. A friend that of mine that was like my sister for a year or two and her brother (Hitler, for anyone who knows me well enough, and yes, I'm an Undercover Band Nazi)are Jehovahs Witnesses. That's peachy, they can all do what they want. But what the rut am I?

Yeah, okay, I'm 12, maybe it's abnormal for me to be thinking about this, but my school is very nosey about religion. If you're asked, 'What religion are you?' and you answer 'I dunno.' you suddenly get a scared/shocked look and an answer similar to, "Well, I'm a(n) *Insert religion name here*, and I think you should hurry up and decide to become the same." Seriously. My school can be THAT BAD. In my grade! I'm in 6th grade, still elementary in my warped town! Oh, and don't dare mention homosexuality or bisexuality around a nice amount of people ranging from grades 1 through 12. I'm perfectly fine with it, I have friends who are, but if, for example, I decided (Found out? Realized? What's the term?) I was bi, I'd lose all but probably three of my circle of buddies at my school.

Oh, okay, stay on course Maddy. Train of thought derailed. Very messy. But, anyway, is religion that important? Do I have to decide soon? Do I have to decide at all? I know a few good people who aren't really anything. They have beliefs, but they're widespread and cover probably almost everything. My family is a nothing, both my parents were raised to be some religion, but I dunno what, and it wasn't passed on to me. I've been to church probably a dozen times in my life. I wanna choose something. Not to be "normal" around my peers, because, well, that's no fun. It's just something I feel like I have to do. Maybe that'll be my New Year's Resolution. Find your religion, if any. Okay, perhaps I'm on board with this whole resolution thing. Maybe.

Yeah, this'll be weird. Right now I'm really into learning about Wicca and Paganism (don't jump on me for using the term so loosely) and Neopaganism (Wicca is essentially a part of that...but please, please forgive me, it's nearing 12:30 and I'm going on about 4 hours of sleep) and I'll probably be doing that for a while. Who knows what I'll be doing a few months from now...

Ahh, I feel better now. I probably have some facts wrong about some things about religions...maybe, I'm kinda out of it right now. There's the cut because a link to my journal is at a few places, and if someone stumbles across it (unlikely) I don't want to get someone annoyed with me. Not fun.

And aside from this, I'm boycotting Buffy : Season 5 because I'm on the last disk and refuse to watch Buffy die. You're an evil man, Joss. I'm probably going to back up my belief in that by falling asleep to Firefly cause I'm a walking, talking cat nap. But I'll still be able to yell when Joss does mean things to characters. Shiny.

You seem genuinely confused about religion as i was when i started to realize being roman catholic just isnt for me.

We all have our own little beliefs and once you reach an age where you start questioning what you have been taught or not taught previously, is when you are ready to possibly explor into other religions...

The best advice i could give you is go just brief yourself on all the religions out there, myself... i researched a lot but when i ran into a book on wicca, i finally found a place of rest. And it made me comfortable... but wicca isnt right for everyone. And if you continue looking into it, feel free to ask me questions. Just dont DONT automaticaly call yourself something the second you read up on it... converting takes time. and research.

:) best of luck to you.
