perididdleI'd forgotten why I loved horse racing so much. Why I adored every second, despite drugs, controversy, and danger.
Then I realized after the Classic that I was shaking, my heart was about to beat out of my chest, and that I'd been screaming.
An amazing sport.
Okay then...Ghostzapper won the RL classic, and my lovely horse racing muses just finished up their race day as well. In the Juvie, Seth won on a kinda longshot (Desert Wolf. They bought him as a yearling, and he's by American Chief, out of a mare that I think is named Lazuli. He ish pretty, and actually was around 20-1) and Mae got second by a length (Liz has a really good colt, named Traconnor. By Ecarlate, out of an unraced mare named Roxie. He's done really well all year.) She passed Seth after the wire and glared.
The Turf was a long one, Tammy doesn't have many mile and a half colts. Mae was 3rd (On a full brother to Dr. Z, named What Chicken. Of course, that's a lovely nod toward Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders, and his first colt is SO going to be named Creepy Monkey. I love Keith's dad.) Then CLASSIC TIME. Tammy and Seth got third in the Derby, won the Preakness and placed in the Belmont on this HUGE horse named....yeah, yeah...Blue Sun. *Giggle* I don't really feel like finding out his predigree, because I've done it far too many times already, but yeah. He's rather kick ass, he's SUPER LIGHT CHESTNUT, and Mae got him today. They won, and everyone was happy.
That means 5 wins, 3 seconds, a third, a fourth and a fifth. All around a wonderful day for my horse muses. Everyone tends to forget Tammy's horses if they aren't running in the Triple Crown, but she has a barn full of wicked awesome horses. *Clapclap of joy*
Josie was upset that she didn't get to go. *huggles her* Though Seth called her a bunch, and that made her happy, AND she got interviewed. Tee hee.
