Nano Thoughts
Sep. 1st, 2004 05:18 pmHmmm, we have but two months until November. NaNoWriMo approaches.
I have shaky ideas for what I want to write. Mostly it's the theatre story, which I'm proud to say I've resisted the urge to write, and one particular slayer in a lovely little line of em that I drew up one day when I was bored (I cheated, and each of them lasted at least into the next year. My excuse was I skipped those that died before they were called/died early on/didn't even know they'd been called and gone on to be olympic stars or something. O.o) I like the slayer story, though I doubt the chick I wanna use could have lasted the 4/5 years I gave her, though I know others have gone on almost as long as Buffy did, so *shrug.* I have no idea what I would write into it, but Spike would get to sneak in and out for quick villan-y action and all that jazzy stuff.
Or I'll mess with random, so-undeveloped-they-aren't-even-ideas bits and pieces I get once in a while. One reason I avoid reading sometimes - stupid, pointless phrases get to me and get under my skin and I either want to go out of my way to use it, or write a story involving it ('Human imperfection' and 'You couldn't write a story to save your life', anyone?) I have my standard worlds I've already worked on the slightest bit...Rhonvanion (look, I dug up the original name for the elven wolf story! It's Elven for 'wilderness), snake dragons, Circle of Magic fanfic, even FURCADIA fanfic. I don't think I could write for a month about my dragons or music-mages, though the puppies and furres would make for some interesting storylines. Rhonvanion is already written, but only in very small bits, and could def. change from a huge overhaul. Maddy isn't much of a fantasy writer, really, not when the whole story relies on it, so those are severe back ups.
Theatre or slayer I guess are my best bits as of now. *Sigh*
This year, I am GOING to finish. I have Nicole and Lisha as enemies, and dangit one of these days I'm GOING to beat Lisha at something. ^_^ She's keeping her plot all uber-quiet, though, so I'm scared. And Nicole - you're goin' down. BWAHAHA. Plus, I think what I missed out on last year was support from other people. I'm very anti-social on forms or chatrooms, so I didn't really talk about problems I had on the NaNo boards. This year I shall be different I hope.
I have my big Fall Harvest Youth Show the 2nd week in November. Not only will I be washing horses on Friday, and showing until around 8 or 9 on Saturday and Sunday, but I'll be riding like mad the weeks before it. I'm just gonna tough it out though, because dangit I have to do this. On Friday, I'll bring my notebooks and when I'm done I'll scratch out as much stuff as I can, and if at all possible, write some on the computer. Saturday will be high-level stress day, with SHOWMANSHIP being the first class of the day for the show and for me, and I'm in virtually every other class. During the wait between same-discipline classes (roughly 40 kids per class, so I especially during pattern classes I'll have longish waits) I'll try to just sit in the saddle/next to the stall and write. Won't get home until 9, at the EARLIEST, so maybe I'll force out a little bit, but doubtful. Sunday is game day, and not only will I be able to run around in jeans and a t-shirt once again, but everyone's just having FUN and if we loose, SO WHAT! Plus, most classes are one-at-a-time things AND you go fast through your turn, so while I wait for my class AND the next class to end, I could huddle in the barn or the heated arena and write. And this year I plan to convince my dad to let me have Monday off again. *Nod*
Yeah, no one cares about that, but I felt like ranting. I have to finish this year. I felt bad after giving up after the horse show weekend, and I was really hard on myself. I finished a 10k goal for April Fools, and THAT made me so happy. Imagine what 50k would do...
Soo, yes, my semi-monthly 'holy crap is it really almost time for that' post. I'm off to look for food and then play on the internet while hacking up the remainders of my lungs (Yep, I'm still sick.)
*Shuffles off. Gravity can kiss my ass any other day, but for now I kinda like it.*

P.S. (These things are kinda nifty. I'm an addict.)
