Argh, ye matey!
Jan. 20th, 2004 09:18 pmTooo much Whose Line for MEEE!
Blech. I have a horse show this weekend. Blech. I love my horses but all day Saturday training and showing. Blech. Least it's not Sunday, because I hate spending SUNDAYS at horse shows. Cause then I get home late and have to get up early the next day. Uber-blech.
*Looks at the debate topic on politicettes* Oooh my. I think I might just keep my pretty little, 'damnit I love my rights but my second 'family' was torn away from me because of military-ness' mouth shut. Now, Tommi and Todd were in no way drafted. But they were deployed, and Jessi, Austin and little Loganne were left with no parents.
Okay, yes, women are just as good as men in the military. It'd help blur the line between genders and those who think women are weak and can't defend themselves, their country, or their freedom. And if it came to the worst and we actually had to draft people, then I would like women to be included into that.
BUT. Mothers shouldn't have to go. They have family to take care of. Maybe mothers with children under a certain age, or single mothers. They shouldn't have to go and leave those kids. And since it's against the law for two parents of the same family, if they're still married (or maybe if they have joint custody, of kids, I'm going to have to research that) for them to both go into service for the military. If one was in the National Guard already, then one was drafted into the military, oh that's not illegal. But if it's two military parents, then the mom should have the choice to go, or if it's a really long and drawn out war, one parent should be deployed and then when they return the other goes.
This is quickly turning into a rant about drafting and being deployed in general. YEAH. That's why I'm not posting in response quite yet. BWAHA!
Oh, a little funny snippet from a letter from Fi...
"Good. You know, we would have come to take you if he'd said no. I'm sure he realized that, correct? It'll be fun...take your mind off of you-know-who. Though, where is he? I can always sharpen my knives in my fr- *Insert ink blob here*
*Handwriting change* We've got the guest room all ready for you *The words waver here, like someone is trying to get the paper/pen/chair back* and tell your dad we'll get you back sometime around 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Bye,
Miranda + Fi"
I swear they started fighting over that letter. Fiona does that a lot, and Miranda always has to dive on the letter. It's funny.
